Good day all Performance Writers,

With the help of the South African Screen Federation (SASFED), the WGSA are putting together a relief task team to help members who will lose income owing to COVID-19.

Although the Minister has announced a relief fund to assist members of the arts and cultural community who will lose income during this time, the department lacks the data on individuals and companies who are affected by this.

Therefore SASFED has decided to appoint a task team to speak from one voice and assist and collaborate with the ministry on this matter.

To be considered for any relief measures, the WGSA will require the following documentation such as a contract or email communication or letter from the producer/production company to verify the following information:

Proof of job: confirmed, pencilled etc.
Date of when the writing job was due to commence
Date of when the job was cancelled or postponed
If the job was postponed: date of when production/post-production plans to recommence.
Rand value of the job
