Ever watched a really popular local series that just kept you on the edge of your seat and made you wonder, how did they get that right?

Well South African television has had many ground-breaking moments, think Yizo Yizo and Intersexions and we are very fortunate to have one of the show’s creators share some knowledge on how they did that and what their approach to the process was?

  • Did they know they were creating ground-breaking television?
  • What sparked some of the popular storylines?
  • What part did research have to play in all of this.

All will be shared…

There’s someone in showbiz living in Africa and his name is Uzanenkosi.

This serious day dreamer is the original creator of InterSEXions and Executive Producer for his company, ANTS Multimedia, on the award winning first of its kind, world over drama series.

InterSEXions won the illustrious Peabody Award, the world’s oldest electronic media award, alongside the world’s most spoken about television: The Colbert Report, Game of Thrones, Treme, Homeland, Portlandia and Parks and Recreation.

The Peabody Award followed InterSEXions unprecedented 11 SAFTA awards. In this country the series became the second most watched show across all genres, and the only other show (besides Generations) to have broken the 4 million – viewership mark.

In the 20 years that this Creator/Writer/Producer/Director has been a part of the television industry, he has managed to work across genre with most of the companies that are at the helm of production in South Africa: Endemol SA, Ochre Moving Pictures, Urban Brew Studios, TOM Pictures, Kagiso Television, Curious Pictures, Born Free Media and Penguin Films. His name is synonymous with the success of: Ek se Let’s Talk with Masechaba Lekalake, Evita & Loyiso’s Dinner With The President, Zola 7, Big Brother Africa (I & II), Relate, All You Need Is Love, A Place Called Home, Zam & Nkhensani Nkosi’s Mojo, 91 Plein Street and Soul Buddyz and Desmond Dube’s Dube On Monday.
