WGSA Online Workshop Series
Deadline Monday, 15 June 2020 at 12h00
Writing as a business. Accountability is important!
Time: 11h00 – 12h00
Speaker: Anil Polton
About the Session
I have spent most of my working life in corporate environments or factory settings and about a year ago decided to take writing seriously, though I have been writing part-time for a while. I suppose you don’t forget the numbers part because that is what is drilled into you in that environment. You measure by numbers, not by passion and not by a lick of the thumb. What I want to show how you can set up a writers workshop and how you can set up a system to be accountable for the work that you do, that is, a way to measure your progress
About Anil
Anil Polton has written four screenplays, one of which was in the final of WGSA Muse awards 2019, and three were placed in the semi-finals. He has also (almost) completed the WGSA Train the Trainer course. I just like writing and improving in the art of writing when I am not talking about writing or thinking about writing. Being a writer, he believes it is about discipline and productivity and they must work together with the art in order to make it a success. It is a game of persistence and that persistence must be measured too.
