WGSA INDIGENOUS LANGUAGE SCREENWRITING PROGRAMME

The WGSA is excited to offer two online workshops designed for emerging screenwriters. These workshops will be conducted in English, and the second workshop will be delivered in either Sesotho or Sepedi, based on participants’ preferences.

Course content covers the following key areas:

  • Writing as a Business
  • Story Development
  • Structural Elements
  • Script Building Blocks
We strongly encourage interested individuals to attend all sessions, as recordings will not be available. Please plan for potential load shedding.

WGSA members can attend the course free of charge. Non-members have the option to either JOIN WGSA or pay a fee of R800 for the course. Bank details are provided on the RSVP form, and participants must upload proof of payment.

For the ENGLISH course, entries will close on 19 January 2024, at 12:00. The Zoom link will be sent out before 17:00 on the same date.

For the SESOTHO / SEPEDI course, entries will close on 29 January 2024, at 12:00. Depending on participant interest, the language of instruction will be communicated, and the Zoom link will be sent out on 16 February 2024.

Note that the course will commence promptly at 18:00, and participants will be admitted via the waiting room before 18:00. Late entry will not be permitted after 18:00.

The English Course will run from 18:00 to 20:00 on the following dates:
