RESEARCHER SHORT-TERM JOB OPPORTUNITY
Sisters Working in Film and Television, in partnership with the Department of Arts and Culture, is looking to appoint a researcher to work on a safety contact program we are developing to ensure the safety of womxn and vulnerable persons on film and television productions in South Africa.
Project Outline SWIFT is an organisation dedicated to the promotion of womxn’s right to safety and protection in the work place, specifically in the film and television industry. One way in which we propose to achieve this is through creating a training program for a new kind of safety personnel. SWIFT is committed to transformation. Preference may be given to appointable applicants from the underrepresented designated groups in terms of the relevant employment equity plans and policies of the organisation. SWIFT retains the right not to make an appointment and to verify all information provided by candidates; including qualifications and credit standing.
Requirements The first phase of this project will entail research, industry-wide consultations and interviews, with a view to developing our safety contact program. The final deliverable of this phase will be a consolidated report of the findings of the research phase. The right candidate must have the following: – A degree qualification, preferably in a relevant field. – Experience in research and academic writing. – Familiarity with the film and television industry. – Understanding of gender-based violence and sexual harassment. – Available to start immediately.
