Submission Process
Before You Submit
There are a few things you need to know:
- Your script must have a unique title. If the title has been used already, the system will inform you of such. Please contact the WGSA Administrator.
- Before submitting, your work must be registered with our WGSA Script Registry or any other legitimate Script Registry. You will not be able to list your script without a script registration number.
- Make sure that you categorise your project correctly.
- The submission form requires a logline and short synopsis. Please prepare this before the time. To ensure that your work has a professional ring to it, spell check, grammar check and check punctuation before you submit it into the public domain. To develop a professional logline, you may use this guideline:
Ultimate Logline Guide:
“A hero with a flaw that keeps him/her from achieving a worthwhile goal, who is forced to respond to a life changing event instigated by an opponent, and in the process of responding to that life changing event with the help of an ally, the hero is forced to overcome his/her flaw and only then is s/he able to do one-on-one with the opponent to realize his/her goal.”

Logline | After being framed for a political assassination, a timid recycler must prove his innocence before the nefarious crime lord responsible takes him out. |
Elevator Pitch | What is bravery? This is the question posed throughout the story as we see our antagonist struggle against extreme odds to find his inner strength. Itumeleng Moeng, a timid recycler, picks recyclable material by the wasteland when he inadvertently picks up a bag of cash which was intended for a vindictive crime lord, Godfrey ‘Godfather’ Tate, but got concealed under a cardboard owing to a cash-in-transit heist that has gone wrong. With his newly found riches, Itumeleng conjures a plan to take out Bridgette, an absolute dish, on a date by soliciting the help of his friend, Mohau, to arrange the undertaking. His hopes are thwarted when he discoveres through Jabulani ‘Sjijo’ Ngema, a neighborhood spiv, that Bridgette has fallen for Mohau instead. Shattered and naive, Itumeleng spends the cash on material things and basks in a life of debauchery in search of solace. He gets acquainted with Godfrey while clubbing with some women having their ‘hen party’ and they, He and Godfrey, form a dubious yet fleeting friendship. Godfrey then invites Itumeleng to his house to discuss business opportunities. While laying out the plan in proposition to Itumeleng, Godfrey gets privately summoned by one of his men downstairs. He makes an excuse but unwittingly forgets his phone on the table. Itumeleng rushes the phone downstairs as it rings for the third time. Fraught with finding out who took his money, Godfrey accidentally kills the MP (Member of Parliament) and later discovers through his confidant and partner, Darckie, that the money is in the possession of a recycler by the name of Itumeleng. Godfrey scowls at Itumeleng and bawls out to his men “Bambani lenja!” In full panic mode, Itumeleng runs frantically up the stairs and through a window and the claws down the pipe. As he circles around, he hears the MP groaning on the ground, he reluctantly stops. The MP slides a device over to him and stifles” Take it… police… ” and dies. Itumeleng, summons the strength and courage to face his adversary, Godfrey, with the aid of the local police force. Cuffed, Godfrey hobbles by Itumeleng and sneers” You may have put me in check… but it’s not mate….” then gets shoved inside the van. |
