Lamar Bonhomme – Communications
Lamar Bryce Bonhomme graduated with a BA in Dramatic Arts in 2011, majoring in acting and directing for theatre, from the University of Witwatersrand. His screenwriting career began in 2014, where he soon joined the writing teams of SABC’s Thandeka’s Diary and High Rollers, both SAFTA award-winning productions.
In 2017 he began writing and directing short films which screened at various festivals, including the Clermont-Ferrand International Short Film Festival, DIFF, and Cinequest, as well as being broadcast on BET Africa. Recently Lamar’s creative short films have been shortlisted for a Ciclope Africa award and added to the prestigious Director’s Library. His latest pursuits in commercials directing has seen him write and direct eight TVCs for South African Tourism, one of which was officially selected for direction craft at the 2023 Berlin Commercial Awards.
