Busisiwe Ntintili – Co-chair
Busisiwe Ntintili is a multiple award-winning film and television writer, director and producer. Creator and writer of the third original series for Netflix, “JIVA!” and screenwriter of the box office hit film “Happiness is a 4 Letter Word”, she has been working with the written word for more than thirty years. She produced her first professional play at the tender age of 13 under the New Jersey Young Playwrights Programme. Her work ranges from soapies and telenovelas to comedies, mini-series, feature films and award winning drama series like the Peabody Award recipient “Intersexions”, “4Play, Sex Tips for Girls” which won her a SAFTA for Best Writing for a Drama Series and the 2016 Best Feature Film for “Happiness in a 4 Letter Word” from the 5th Annual Mbokodo Women in the Arts Awards. Other highlights include the “Heartlines” series, the LoveLife campaign, Jozi H, Isidingo, Generations, Greed and Desire, Isipho and The Wife. Busisiwe Ntintili has trained and mentored emerging black storytellers in film and television for the past two decades through workshops, festivals, one on one mentoring and hiring new voices for her writers rooms.
