Bradley Katzen – Advocacy
Brad Katzen is a writer/director who has over fifteen years of experience in the FILM & TV industry. In 2018, Brad was selected to be part of the Launchpad program for upcoming entrepreneurs focusing on innovation in South Africa, and until 2020, was lead storyliner on the popular E-TV drama series Imbewu, the fastest growing tele-novela in E-TV’s history, which won a SAFTA for most popular Soap/Tele-Novela. In 2020, Brad was storyliner and script editor on uBettina Wethu, Africa’s first adaptation of the internationally acclaimed series Ugly Betty. With the Covid-19 outbreak, Brad was personally selected to direct, write and spearhead the South African government’s PSA campaign for the presidency during the lockdown. Most recently, Brad’s screenplay The Domestic was a finalist in the prestigious 13Horror Screenplay Contest 2020 and Semi-Finalist in the ScreenCraft Horror Competition 2020. The Domestic, also directed by Brad, distributed by Gravel Road, sold to Amazon Prime in 2022 and is currently streaming on the platform. It is also enjoying a successful international film festival run, including premiering at Screamfest 2022 in Los Angeles, where it won two awards (Best Actor & Best Music) and winning Best Horror at the Falcon Film Festival and Budapest Film Festival 2022, as well as the Dark Matters Grand Jury Award at the Austin Film Festival 2022. Currently, Brad has just completed writing and directing his second feature film, Soweto Blaze, also with Netflix, and 33 Films, commissioned by Netflix as part of the NFVF-Netflix Talent Slate 2022.
