WGSA Online Session: Do you want to attend an International Film Market in 2026?

The WGSA Professional Development and Membership team is planning on making use of the DTIC’s SSAS (Sector Specific Assistance Scheme) in 2026 to take WGSA members to Film markets abroad. The two markets we intend to attend in 2026 is the Galway Film Fleadh and Series Mania.

 From 2015 to 2018 the WGSA successfully made use of this scheme and many of our members who took advantage of this opportunity benefitted from the experience and exposure (WGSA Markets and Festivals).

 In 2018 the DTIC discontinued the programme, but this year it was revived; however the attendance criteria has changed.

 The WGSA would like to discuss this opportunity, the do’s and don’ts, and the attendance criteria, with interested writers. If you are not a member of the WGSA as yet, you are welcome to attend the session.

 Thea Aboud, WGSA Operations and Strategy, will discuss the criteria. Zunaid Mansoor, WGSA Council member for Professional Development and Jacques du Rand, WGSA Council member for Membership and WGSA Chairperson, Busisiwe Ntintili will discuss market attendance, what to expect from a market and preparation for attending a market.
