MEET YOUR MENTOR: PIPPA DYER

Pippa Dyer brings over 40 years of experience in storytelling and performance. Born in the turbulent era of Apartheid, she was catapulted into political consciousness, writing gritty township lyrics. Her diverse skills span film, documentary, and politico development organizations.

Pippa has held various roles in the industry, from actor and production assistant to wardrobe head and marketing director. She has also been involved in performance and writing projects, such as “The Voice Beyond the Veil” and the NFVF Sediba Spark program. As an author, she published Strike Up! Structure Your First Film in 2013.

Her teaching experience includes lecturing at AFDA and Boston Media House and leading film writing courses for offenders. Currently, she is the CEO of the AWEH RT Centre, where she teaches creative skills to vulnerable populations.
