WGSA presents: Delivering a Solid and Memorable Pitch.
DATE: JOHANNESBURG: 16 NOVEMBER 2019 TIME: 9h00 to 16h30 VENUE: 34 7th Street, Linden, Randburg FACILITATOR: Ayanda Halimana
As creative writers we are always buzzing with ideas and we visuals shows and films that we’d like to see realized. Most of these ideas always fall flat when presented to potential funders. This is often due to the way we present them. Granted, sometimes it’s just not what that particular funder or broadcaster is looking for at the time. Either way, it is very important for writers to also develop the skill of crystalizing their ideas and know how to pitch them. This is part of the writing business, we are wordsmiths and we should be well equipped to sell our words. The workshop “Delivering a Solid and Memorable Pitch” aims to share insights into the art of pitching. Pitching forces us to actually crystalize our story ideas and present them is a succinct, easy to follow manner. The workshop is geared towards writers who have been writing for at least three years and those who actually have ideas they feel are ready to pitch.
