2019 WGSA Muse Awards – Entries Now Open

The primary objective of The WGSA Muse Awards is to recognise and reward outstanding artistic achievement in the film, television and entertainment industry by members of The Writers’ Guild of South Africa

These awards are for South African performance writers bestowed by their peers. They shine the spotlight on and recognise the contribution made by the often faceless and unappreciated creators and originators of entertainment content.

This year, the award ceremony will take place in Johannesburg on 3 November at a venue to be confirmed.

All WGSA Muse Award Finalists will receive an all access pass to the Inaugural Federation of African Screenwriters (FAS) Conference and Festival on 2 and 3 November 2019.

Produced works from finalists will screen during the FAS Conference and Festival.

Unproduced works from all finalists will be showcased on the WeFilmGood Platform

GUIDELINES

The WGSA Muse Awards are run by The Muse Awards Committee, and governed by a set of guidelines, both established by the WGSA Council.

Please read these guidelines carefully before entering a script or screenplay.

THE 2019 GUIDELINES

THE WGSA SCRIPT REGISTRY

To be eligible to enter The WGSA Muse Awards, unproduced scripts and screenplays must be listed with a recognised script registry. The WGSA offers a script registry service to both members and non-members.

Below is an example of acceptable wording for this letter.

Please note that in the case of multiple writers or owners, all the writers must sign one permission letter.
